The Government of Vietnam is offering scholarship opportunities to South African students to study at the Vietnam Maritime University in Vietnam.

The Vietnam Maritime University is one of the pioneering universities in Vietnam that has been involved in international and regional integration and is an official member of the International Association of Maritime Universities (IAMU). The University is currently offering 47 undergraduate courses, 17 graduate courses, and 8 courses in specialized research directly related to the marine economy with a total number of more than 17,000 students.

The university is offering five (5) scholarships for undergraduate programmes in the 2023-2024 academic year.

• South African citizens in good health with a strong academic record;
• Must have university entrance on NSC certificate;
• Intend to return to South Africa at the end of your studies

What the scholarship covers

The scholarship includes three full scholarships that covers tuition and accommodation, textbooks, study materials and health insurance. One scholarship of 70% tuition fee reduction, and one scholarship of 20% tuition fee reduction.

Gifted Class Programme: Navigation Marine Engineering	2 full scholarships, including tuition fees, accommodation inside the dormitory, textbooks, study materials and health insurance.
Advanced Programme: Global Studies and Maritime Affairs International Business and Logistics Business and Marketing Management	1 full scholarship, including tuition fees, dormitory accommodation, textbooks, learning materials and health insurance. 1 scholarship of 70% reduction 1 scholarship of 20% reduction

Please note: Successful applicants will be expected to cover the cost of travel to Vietnam or expenses for visa application and any additional living expenses not covered by the scholarship.
